Responsibilities
- Prepare and file fiduciary tax returns, including Form 1041, Form 706, and Form 709.
- Manage fiduciary accounting for irrevocable and revocable trusts, estates, and related entities in compliance with IRS regulations and client goals.
- Collaborate with attorneys, trustees, and beneficiaries to gather tax-related information and deliver clear, timely reporting.
- Reconcile trust activity and ensure accurate allocation of income, principal, deductions, and distributions.
- Support and implement tax planning strategies for wealth transfer, charitable giving, and estate administration.
Requirements
- 8 years of fiduciary tax and accounting experience, preferably within a law firm or legal environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Deep understanding of legal trust accounting standards, including IOLTA, SRA Rules, and Law Society guidelines.
- Proficiency with ProSystem or GoSystem tax software.
