Fiberglass Technician 1

About the Role

This position involves performing various fiberglass and plastic fabrication tasks, including hand laminating, chopper gun operation, and material rolling. The role requires working both in-shop and on rides, with a focus on repair, fabrication, and installation.

Responsibilities

• Hand laminating, operating a chopper gun, and rolling out fiberglass materials
• Vacuum forming and bonding plastics such as ABS, Kydex, polycarbonate, and plexiglass
• Grinding fiberglass using power hand tools in-shop and on rides
• Removing and repairing various materials and surfaces
• Installing seatbelts and replacing upholstery
• Fabricating pans from polyester resin and urethane foam
• Preparing patterns and pulling tools or parts
• Assembling and installing fabricated pans

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of plastic materials, adhesives, and fasteners
• Four years of experience in fiberglass assembly and polyester resin hand laminating
• Good mechanical skills
• Full availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

Experience levels are categorized as follows:

• Level 1: Applies general skills and some experience
• Level 2: Applies skills and special knowledge with typically 3+ years of experience
• Level 3: Applies full specialized skills and knowledge with 5+ years of experience
• Level 4: Applies expert-level knowledge and skills with 7+ years of experience
