Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Operate fiberglass chopping equipment and finishing tools safely and efficiently
  • Trim, grind, sand, and finish fiberglass parts to required specifications
  • Inspect products for defects, quality issues, and dimensional accuracy
  • Read and follow work orders, production schedules, and manufacturing instructions
  • Prepare materials and maintain organized workstations
  • Apply fillers, coatings, or touch-up materials as needed
  • Maintain production quotas while meeting quality standards
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper PPE usage
  • Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety issues to management
  • Absorb inventory counts and material handling when needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of department and equipment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous manufacturing, fiberglass, automotive, marine, or composites experience preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools, grinders, sanders, and measuring devices
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic math and measurement skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, kneel, and reach throughout shift
  • Comfortable working in environments with dust, noise, and fiberglass materials while wearing required PPE

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and production facility environment
  • Exposure to fiberglass dust, chemicals, and industrial equipment
  • Required use of personal protective equipment including gloves, eye protection, respirators, and hearing protection

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with fiberglass repair or composites manufacturing
  • Experience using pneumatic or power tools
  • Understanding of quality control processes
