About the role
The Fiberglass Fabricator is responsible for cutting, grinding and drilling fiberglass components for door products using a variety of hand, power and air tools. Fabricators will review daily requirements and work instructions via the iPad.
Responsibilities
- Cut, grind and drill fiberglass components for door products using a variety of hand, power and air tools including chop saws, grinders, and drill press
- Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and other instructions to build and assemble parts in an accurate and timely fashion
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of the manufactured parts
- Keep area clean and organized
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Qualifications
- Ability to work the Monday–Thursday 4:30am–3:00pm schedule
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions and blueprints
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage more than one task at a time
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Ability to read and use standard tape measure as well as other measuring tools
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to squat, kneel, and stand frequently
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with high noise level, exposed to dust/dirt frequently and fumes/vapors/mists occasionally
Preferred qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
