About the role
As a Fiber Technician I, you will locate and repair fiber impairments, work independently in the field, and connect new fiber builds for residential and enterprise customers. You will maintain and improve fiber networks to ensure optimal customer connectivity.
Responsibilities
- Work independently while collaborating with team support
- Examine existing fiber plant and perform repairs
- Connect new fiber builds and maintain network integrity
- Utilize fiber testing, splicing equipment, and knowledge of fiber architectures
Requirements
- High school diploma and industry certifications (e.g., NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)
- At least 1 year of maintenance or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of fiber systems, testing, splicing, and CWDM/DWDM technologies
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to stand, use hand tools, climb poles, and work in various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in electronics or related field
- Basic computer skills for occasional office work
Pay
$20.25 – $37.10 per hour
