Responsibilities
- Installation of fiber splice enclosures
- Outside plant fiber optic cable slicing, to include both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber
- Fusion Splicing
- Unidirectional and bidirectional fiber testing
- Light Level Testing, OLTS
- Fiber troubleshooting and repair, test report generation
- Cook up daily crew activities and work schedule
- Maintain a safe and quality work site and location
- Maintain Fiber equipment and tools
- Daily inspection of all equipment assigned to crew
- Ensure work is conducted in a safe manner and according to company safety and OSHA practices
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experienced preferred but will consider less based on Fiber Experience
- Knowledge of industry testing equipment - OTDR, OLTS, Fluke, Etc.
- Cable termination and testing a plus
- BICSI, CORNING, FOA CFOT, OSHA Certification a Plus
