Primary Role and Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and repairing of fiber optic systems for residential and commercial customers
- Build and maintain splice closures when applicable
- Operate and maintain vehicle, tools, fusion splicer, test equipment and other company owned equipment in accordance with system guidelines and procedures
- Place aerial or buried fiber optic drops and install interior and exterior wiring
- Complete pre-install work order and post-install service verification and customer education to ensure customer satisfaction
- Observe all safety rules and OSHA regulations
- Work at heights by using/setting up various types of ladders
- Work in confined spaces
- Use internal systems for work order notation and time keeping
- Keep customer appointments
Secondary Role and Responsibilities
- RF Install and service call when needed
- Assisting mainline technicians dependent on work load
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Experience with handling fiber optic cable and splice enclosures
- Residential and commercial installation experience
- Ability to work long hours standing /sitting in a single position
- Read and correctly interpret prints, and splice matrix
- Valid class E driver's license and good driving record
- High School Diploma or GED
