Fiber I&R Technician

Role and Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, and repairing of fiber optic systems for residential and commercial customers.
• Ensuring adequate performance of internet, phone and if applicable, television services.
• Completing pre-install work order and post-install service verification and customer education to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Placing aerial or buried fiber optic drops and installing interior and exterior wiring.
• Observing all safety rules and OSHA regulations.
• Working at heights by using/setting up various types of ladders.
• Working in confined spaces.
• Assisting other technicians in the performance of their duties when requested.
• Conveying a positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the company’s products and services to our customers.
• Adapting to new processes and new information frequently.
• Using internal systems for work order notation and time keeping.
• Maintaining customer appointments.
• Maintaining minimum acceptable metrics with Repeats, Productivity, and Completions.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• Fiber optic internet and home phone service experience preferred.
• Must satisfy company required tools and safety equipment checklist.
• Must have own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack.
• Must have own tools to perform the job.
• Must have a smartphone and laptop.
• Must have Microsoft Excel.
• Lift up to 80lbs unassisted.
• Must have effective communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
• Must pass background check, MVR screen, and drug test.
• Must be accountable and dependable.
• Must have the ability to work overtime and on weekends depending on the needs of the customer.
• Must have the ability to take input from customers, supervisors, leads and co-workers to problem solve and improve skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay is production based. Rates will be provided upon resume submission. Paid training available.
