Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair fiber-optic systems for residential and commercial customers
• Ensure proper performance of internet, phone, and television services
• Complete pre-installation work orders, post-installation service verification, and customer education
• Place aerial and buried fiber-optic drops and install interior and exterior wiring
• Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety standards
• Work at heights using various types of ladders
• Work in confined spaces when required
• Assist fellow technicians to support team success
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the company
• Adapt quickly to new processes, technologies, and information
• Utilize internal systems for work orders, documentation, and timekeeping
• Maintain customer appointments and provide excellent customer service
• Meet or exceed quality, productivity, completion, and repeat service metrics
• Relocate periodically throughout assigned regions to support client work volumes

Requirements

• Fiber-optic internet and home phone service installation experience preferred (paid training available for qualified candidates)
• Must own a 4-wheel drive truck or SUV equipped with a ladder rack (vans and non-4WD vehicles are not suitable)
• Must be comfortable driving on sand and know how to safely air down tires to access customer locations in Corolla Beach
• Must provide and maintain tools and safety equipment required for fiber installation, maintenance, and repair work
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs. unassisted
• Able to work at heights using ladders, in confined spaces, and in various outdoor weather conditions
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Must pass a background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) screening, and drug test
• Willing to travel, relocate temporarily, and work overtime or weekends as needed

Pay

This is a production-based pay position. Compensation rates will be provided upon resume submission.

Important notes

This position services customers in remote coastal locations, including homes accessible only by driving on the beach. A 4-wheel drive truck or SUV is required, and candidates must be comfortable operating their vehicle in sandy terrain.
