About the role
At Westinghouse, we support our mission to provide clean energy solutions through innovation and a diverse workforce. As a Fuel Handling Equipment Field Service Technician, Level 1, you will play a crucial role in supporting our FHE Outage and Maintenance Services team.
Responsibilities
- Install, set-up, maintain, inspect, calibrate, and troubleshoot fuel handling/outage critical crane equipment at customer sites worldwide.
- Review operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and drawings in detail.
- Provide support to engineering and training by performing activities such as equipment modifications, equipment setup and testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and equipment and process qualifications.
- Accurately document equipment performance issues during field implementation, and ensure corrective actions are complete prior to next scheduled use.
- Participate in training programs to acquire and maintain certifications as well as keep current with technology and procedures.
- Practice a “Safety First” attitude as an integral part of all activities.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and document all quality related issues.
- Develop, exercise and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments.
- Develop and maintain a focus on creative problem solving.
- Report to the service supervisor the status of field work progress, changes, problems, and/or mistakes on a daily or as needed basis.
Requirements
- High school graduate or the recognized equivalent plus 2 year, post high school degree/certificate or equivalent in experience.
- Specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, PLC, or mechanical components.
- 1-2 years related experience where satisfactorily demonstrated evidence of mechanical, electrical and PLC aptitude and skill.
- Nuclear industry experience is beneficial.
Qualifications
- Extensive travel via airplane and/or automobile (60%-70%) and working with and around hazardous materials.
- The ability to occasionally carry/lift up to 50 pounds.
- Full range of motion including ability to reach, climb, kneel, squat, grasp, bend forwards and backwards, sit, and stand for a minimum 4 hours per day.
- Ability to pass a Westinghouse physical which includes a spirometer for the ability to wear a respirator.
Skills
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
$62,743.52 to $81,583.93 per year.
Schedule
This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere in the United States, but does require significant travel.
