Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in agricultural education or a closely related field
- Three years of experience with FFA programs as an educator or experience in a related field
Responsibilities
- Administers and coordinates FFA events that happen above the chapter level within the region to ensure opportunities for competition and development of student potential
- Mentors and leads the FFA regional officer team within the region by coordinating the interview and selection process, creating a program of activities for the team, providing training for the officers, and connecting the officer team with local FFA chapters and members for a positive influence on students within the region
- Offers resources for FFA Advisors to utilize locally to enhance the quality of Supervised Agricultural Experience projects and Career and Leadership Development Events training to enable students to gain job and leadership skills from the FFA program
- Develops regional conferences and training for students and advisors that contribute to the region's success at the state and national level
- Visits FFA chapters regularly to share resources with advisors and to improve program quality throughout the region
- Affords assistance with the planning, coordination, and execution of FFA events, which are critical to the state FFA program success
- Leads membership roster and dues collection (where appropriate) within the region with the goal of growing membership in the Tennessee FFA Association
- Visits with county and city school administrators within the region to start new FFA chapters, allowing more Tennessee students access to agricultural education courses and membership in the FFA
- Establishes and maintains a channel of communication with FFA advisors within the region to quickly and effectively communicate as questions, needs, and opportunities arise
- Pursues opportunities for FFA members to learn job skills by maximizing the Supervised Agricultural Experience program and associated award/recognition structure to support Department of Agriculture goals around workforce development
- Affords assistance with the review and approval of State and American Degree applications, Proficiency award applications, and other materials required for state representation at the national level
- Might serve as a camp administrator during FFA Leadership Training Camp to assist advisors attending FFA camp and support camp staff in providing a rewarding and educational camp experience to FFA members
