About the role

The City of Ferndale is seeking a Community Transportation Driver & Dispatcher to support its Parks & Recreation team. This role operates the Ferndale Ride SMART Bus Shuttle and assists with senior programming, dispatching, and transportation system operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Ferndale Ride SMART Bus Shuttle and other department vehicles
• Assist with senior programming
• Dispatch and operate the Ferndale Ride SMART Bus Transportation System
• Work directly with the public
• Contribute to community well-being

• Enjoys working directly with the public
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Dependable, safety-focused, and capable of supporting both driving and administrative tasks
• Works well in a team environment but can also operate independently
