About the role
The Research Post Doc Fellow is in training to help develop the academic knowledge and research fundamentals, teaching expertise and administrative experience necessary to be an exemplary researcher. The position involves performing laboratory work and conducting research activities independently or in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, publishing results in scientific manuscripts and research publications, and participating in seminars, meetings, trainings and other educational sessions.
The Goran Lab at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles conducts clinical and translational research focused on nutrition, obesity, diabetes, and related metabolic disorders in children and families. The multidisciplinary team works on community- and hospital-based studies to better understand the role of diet, early life exposures, and lifestyle behaviors in long-term health outcomes.
Requirements
- Exposure to and/or experience in research in a healthcare environment preferred
- MD and/or PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree
- Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree by their anticipated start date
