Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in the receiving operation by branding, tagging, vaccinating, and sorting cattle.
- Cleans pens, scales, feed bunks, water tank drains, and water troughs to remove dust and sand particles to ensure healthy feeding facilities.
- Affords assistance to cowboys by opening gates and gathering livestock to scales, pens, trucks, and holding areas according to instructions.
- Performs routine repairs and general maintenance duties in the feedlot.
- Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.

- Education And/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situation.
- Mental Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands/fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The employee frequently works near live animals.
- The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
