Feedlot Labor (Grand View, ID)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleans pens, scales, feed bunks, water tank drains, and water troughs to remove dust and sand particles in order to ensure healthy feeding facilities.
• Makes routine repairs and performs general maintenance duties in the feedlot.
• Occasionally drive water truck to water livestock and/or control dust.
• Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situation.
• Mental Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands/fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
