About the Role

We provide full financial assistance for CDL training and licensing so you can gain the skills needed for a long-term driving career with us. This position offers a $5,000 Sign On & Retention Bonus for full-time Feed Truck Drivers at our Forest City Feed Mill. Shift hours are 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Safe, accurate, and timely delivery of feed to sow, nursery, finish, or wean-to-finish sites as designated on daily truck schedules.
  • Adhere to driving standards set by management:
    • Follow all highway regulations (speed limits, yields, stops, no-passing zones, etc.).
    • Drive 5–10 mph below posted speed limits in towns.
    • No jake braking in town.
    • Always drive with headlights on and wear seatbelts.
    • No unauthorized passengers (only authorized CFF employees).
    • Be courteous on the road and respect producers' properties and equipment.
  • Ensure scheduled hours are covered each week.
  • Participate in safety meetings and maintain respect for company and contract partners' property.
  • Stay alert, attentive, and fit for operating equipment, loading/unloading, and working within facilities.
  • Conduct yourself with honesty and integrity at all times.
  • Vehicle care and maintenance:
    • Wash trucks as scheduled and maintain clean vehicles.
    • Complete pre-operation vehicle inspections and report repairs to the manager.
    • Maintain care and inventory of all tools and equipment assigned to the driving unit.
  • Repair minor damages to feed bins and keep accurate records (log books, feed delivery reports, trip reports, inspection sheets).
  • Assist in other mill areas as needed (mill operations, maintenance, truck shop/wash).
  • Maintain cleanliness, neatness, and safety of work areas and buildings.
  • Ensure safekeeping of valuable goods in transit.
  • Complete HACCP training as provided by the company’s HACCP Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Class A CDL (required).
  • Must meet all federal DOT qualifications, including:
    • Passage of a physical examination.
    • Satisfactory driving record and reference check.
    • Passage of drug/alcohol testing.
    • Compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to understand and follow driving instructions and road maps.
  • Position contingent on meeting all Motor Vehicle and CF Insurer requirements, including a desirable driving record.
