About the role
Christensen Farms is currently offering a $5,000 Sign On & Retention Bonus to any candidate hired into a full-time Feed Truck Driver at our Sleepy Eye, MN Feed Mill.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of feed to sow, nursery, finish or wean-to-finish sites as designated on the daily truck schedules.
- Drive with the standards set by management:
- Follow all highway regulations (e.g., speed limits, yields, stops, no passing zones).
- Drive at 5-10 mph below the posted speed limits in all towns.
- No jake braking in town.
- Always drive with headlights on.
- Always wear seatbelts.
- No riders/passengers unless it is a CFF employee and has been authorized.
- Be courteous on the road.
- Respect the producers' properties.
- Respect the equipment/trucks.
- Responsible for having scheduled hours covered each week.
- Safe and courteous driving at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Respect Company & Contract Partners Property.
- Be alert, attentive, and fit for operation of equipment, loading and unloading of equipment, and working within and around company and customer facilities.
- Conduct yourself with honesty and integrity at all times.
- Vehicle Care and Maintenance:
- Wash trucks as scheduled and maintain clean vehicles.
- Complete a vehicle inspection prior to operating any equipment and report any repairs needed to the Manager.
- Care for and inventory all tools and equipment assigned to the driving unit.
- Assist in other areas of the mill if needed/requested (e.g., mill ops, maintenance, truck shop/wash).
- Repair minor damages to the feed bins.
- Keep accurate, easy-to-read records including log books, feed delivered to producers, trip reports, vehicle inspection sheets, etc.
- Help maintain cleanliness, neatness, and safety of work area and building.
- Ensure safekeeping of valuable goods in transit.
- Trained in HACCP as provided by Company's HACCP Coordinator.

- Possession and maintenance of a valid commercial driver's license (Class A CDL) according to federal DOT and Minnesota state regulations.
- Must meet all federal DOT qualifications, including:
- Passage of a physical examination.
- Satisfactory driving record and reference check.
- Passage of drug/alcohol testing.
- Ability to understand and follow driving instructions and road maps.
- Position contingent on meeting all Motor Vehicle and CF Insurer requirements and possessing a desirable driving record.
Pay
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
