Feed Mill Maintenance Trainee-1st Shift

About the Role

Provide general and preventive maintenance for food manufacturing industry equipment. Maintain basic knowledge of tools and equipment usage while ensuring compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and all local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot food manufacturing equipment, including 1st processing poultry machinery, de-boning, and marination equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements, particularly those governing the food industry.
• Perform tasks in compliance with ammonia system safety protocols.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
• Use PM Systems and Microsoft Applications proficiently.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Associate’s Degree or Technical Certificate (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of experience with ammonia systems.
• Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension).
• Willingness to work in extremely wet, cold, or hot environments.
• Ability to frequently walk, stoop, kneel, crawl, and occasionally climb.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Flexibility to take breaks at non-standard times.

Preferred Qualifications

• General and preventive maintenance experience in the poultry industry.
• DSI experience.
• Advanced ammonia/refrigeration skills and experience.

Skills

• High level of interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills with a focus on maintenance systems and Microsoft Applications.
• Intermediate computer skills.
