Primary Role

Mechanical will safely and efficiently perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and all tasks related to the maintenance of all feed mill equipment and facility.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components
  • Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts
  • Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments
  • Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair machinery
  • Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment have been identified
  • Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problems
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regards to time as well as resources
  • Operate fork lifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Reading, General Math and Writing Skills
  • Organized and able to multi-task
  • Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of standard and metric measurements
  • Minimum 1-2 years industrial maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment
  • General knowledge of welding/fabrication
  • General knowledge of both low and high voltage electrical
  • Ability to work overtime including, holidays, nights, and weekend shifts
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc. with use of PPE
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodations

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

  • General knowledge of boilers/steam systems
  • Knowledge with programming technologies, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and variable frequency drives (VFD)
  • Technical school preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
