PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
- Assist at reception desk, greeting students, faculty and staff entering office
- Assists staff in the day-to-day functions of the Office.
- Provides support on various projects and assignments as needed.
- Provides general office support including but not limited to filing, faxing, photocopying, and Data entry.
- Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Services Excellence Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Student will assist at reception desk, greeting students, faculty and staff entering office
- Assists staff in the day-to-day functions of the Office.
- Provides support on various projects and assignments as needed.
- Provides general office support including but not limited to filing, faxing, photocopying, and Data entry.
- Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Services Excellence Standards.
- Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean of Student Services, the Student Service Ambassadors will assist students with self-service registration, scheduling appointments with advisors and tutors, and signing up for new student orientation.
- Additionally, the SSA will be responsible for disseminating flyers to the student body, outbound call campaigns, event coordination, administrative office duties, and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent, and eligible to work in the United States
- Applicants must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago
- Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours pre-credit or credit classes
- Applicants must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate
- Applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first semester new students)
- Applicants must be in “good standing” – no City Colleges of Chicago academic restrictions
- Applicants must not be current Full or Part-time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED at the City Colleges of Chicago.
- Knowledge of City Colleges of Chicago.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Promotes a positive role model and favorable public image as City Colleges of Chicago representative.
- Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Services Excellence Standards.

Student worker rate is $17.00/hr. If variance from $17.00/hr is required, College HR/Recruitment must discuss with District Compensation.
The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.
