The Federal Solution Engineer position is a remote opportunity designed for a technical sales professional with experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role.

About the role

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and customer teams to design architectures and drive successful outcomes. The role combines technical expertise, consulting skills, and customer engagement in a fast-moving technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales and customer success teams to support federal customer opportunities and develop effective technical sales strategies.
  • Analyze customer business objectives and technology requirements through technical discovery sessions.
  • Design and architect solutions in collaboration with technical teams to address customer needs and deliver measurable business value.
  • Prepare and deliver technical proposals, presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and responses to RFPs and RFIs.
  • Act as a customer advocate throughout the pre-sales process by ensuring solutions align with business and technical objectives.
  • Support strategic opportunities by addressing customer requirements related to connectivity, cloud, security, and technology infrastructure.
  • Lead complex solution discussions with internal teams, including sales, engineering, product, and customer success stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and executive audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience, including private sector or military experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Strong understanding of technology solutions such as network infrastructure, edge cloud capabilities, security, communications, and collaboration services.
  • Knowledge of Unified Communications concepts and cloud architecture design, including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with security solutions such as SASE, Fortinet, Cisco, or Palo Alto technologies.
  • Ability to understand complex customer challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage complex discussions and collaborate across sales, engineering, product, and customer teams.

Qualifications

  • Industry certifications in specialized technologies are considered a plus.
