Job Overview
The Federal Grants Manager oversees grant activities for assigned Federal Education grants, including entering grant proposals and budgets, calculating local education agency allocations, monitoring and reconciling grant expenses, and managing reporting and grant closeout. This work supports students across Tennessee, especially vulnerable subgroups, by ensuring they receive the funding and resources needed for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Coincides with the full lifecycle of assigned Federal Education grants by coordinating implementation, developing and maintaining budgets, tracking expenditures, and collaborating with program teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate financial oversight.
- Maintains compliance with federal cost principles, reconciles financial data across multiple systems (ePlan, Edison, G5/PMS), resolves discrepancies, and oversees timely reporting and closeout.
- Analyzes processes, implements improvements, and manages allocations, transfers, and subawards, including calculating LEA allocations.
- Supports audits, prepares journal entries, reviews reimbursement requests, and provides technical guidance to stakeholders while ensuring compliance with regulations and contributing to team initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time professional educational or instructional work, including at least two years of supervisory/administrative or advisory work.
- Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Graduate coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years, there being no substitution for the required two years of specialized experience.
- OR One year of experience as an Education Consultant 2 with the State of Tennessee.
Necessary Special Qualifications
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
