Federal Account Executive
About the role
The marine industry supports recreation, global commerce, and national defense, yet it runs on technology that hasn't meaningfully changed in fifty years. Arc is on a mission to electrify the marine industry by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. The company has already executed on its consumer flagship model and is scaling production while extending its platform to commercial applications — starting with tugs, ferries, and defense — with years of signed contracts and a pipeline spanning every vessel type.
As Arc's Defense Federal Account Executive, you will own a portfolio of U.S. Navy accounts and carry them from first conversation to signed business. You will find and open new opportunities, grow existing ones, and bring in partners when it helps win. This is a full-time, on-site role at Arc's Los Angeles headquarters for someone fired up by the mission who moves fast, takes ownership, and cares about the details.
Responsibilities
- Owning a portfolio of U.S. Navy accounts; build and run account plans, prospect for new opportunities, and expand the relationships Arc Boats already has.
- Developing trusted relationships across the customer and its partners — from program leaders to prime contractors — and represent Arc Boats with credibility and clarity.
- Understanding each customer's mission and priorities, then positioning Arc Boat's technology to solve real problems and open the door with the easiest first step.
- Qualifying opportunities carefully and running them through to a win with a disciplined, repeatable sales and capture process.
- Partnering with prime contractors, teammates, and Arc Boats engineering to build compelling proposals and teaming arrangements.
- Forecasting accurately, keeping records current, and reporting progress and pipeline health on a regular cadence.
Requirements
- Familiarity with government contracting or defense acquisition.
- Field sales, business development, or capture experience, ideally selling to the U.S. Navy, the Department of Defense, or the federal government.
- A proven track record of managing full sales cycles and consistently exceeding targets.
- Comfort building relationships inside large, complex organizations and guiding group buying decisions to a close.
- Strong discovery, presentation, and storytelling skills that connect a technical product to a customer's mission.
- The ability to manage many opportunities at once while staying focused on the accounts that matter most.
- This position requires access to information controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants must be a "U.S. person" as defined by ITAR (22 CFR 120.62) — i.e., a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual (asylee or refugee).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
- Background in maritime, power and propulsion, unmanned systems, or a related technical field.
- Training in a modern sales or capture methodology (e.g., Challenger, SPIN, or Shipley), and an active or recent security clearance.
Pay
- Base salary: $140,000 annually.
- Highly competitive equity grants included with full-time offers.
- Semi-annual bonuses tied to impact, not just tenure.
