About the role
The First Electronics Corporation (FEC) is a manufacturer specializing in over-molded, flexible cable assemblies for military and harsh environments. As a Termination Technician, you'll be part of a team ensuring wire signals and electrical integrity meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Wire measurement (SAE Standards)
- Insulation removal
- Using a heat gun to flow solder, solder sleeves, and shrink heat shrink insulation
- Using crimp tools to properly crimp pins on wire
- Checking for electrical conductivity with a low-voltage wire buzzer
- Removing or separating metal shield braids from wire
- Tinning of wire
- Solder application to wire, contact pins, sockets, and terminal lugs
- Understanding numbers and letter symbols on a wiring diagram
- Ensuring good workmanship in accordance with IPC-620 cable manufacturing
Requirements
- Prior experience with IPC-620 cable manufacturing is preferred but not required
- Training will be provided on internal FEC/Trexon processes and systems
- Attention to detail, patience, and manual dexterity are essential
- Ability to communicate in English
Qualifications
Minimum vision (aided with magnification) and the ability to understand and follow work instructions are important. The company will train in all duties required to perform the essential functions of the job.
