Baker School District is seeking a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Advisor at Baker Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves organizing, promoting, and leading activities and events for the student group.

About the Role

The FBLA-Middle Level Division (Grades 7 & 8) provides students with opportunities to develop positive leadership skills for their present lifestyles and future careers as an integral part of the instructional program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop competent, aggressive business leadership among students.
  • Strengthen students' confidence in themselves and their work.
  • Create interest in and understanding of American business enterprise.
  • Encourage members to develop individual projects that improve home, business, and community.
  • Foster character development, useful citizenship, and patriotism.
  • Encourage efficient money management and scholarship.
  • Promote school loyalty and assist students in establishing occupational goals.
  • Facilitate the transition from school to work.
  • Provide effective leadership for FBLA activities and events.
  • Organize and lead students in planning and executing activities and events.
  • Schedule and coordinate facility use for activities with building personnel.
  • Develop, maintain, and work within program budgets (student fees and FBLA) following district and building guidelines; keep accurate financial records.
  • Enforce school safety standards at all times.
  • Participate in FBLA at local, regional, and state levels (including national level if students qualify).
  • Comply with applicable District, state, local, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and the general public.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for the tasks of the position.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Understanding of school, district, and state rules and regulations regarding school operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate positively and collaborate with students, teachers, administrators, employers, parents, and the community.

Pay

$2,472.00 - $3,165.00 based on the 2026-2027 Extra Duty Salary Schedule and the applicant's school district experience.
