FBH Psychiatric Care Coordinator

Overview

The Psychiatric Care Coordinator (PCC) at Family Behavioral Health (FBH) in Bremerton, WA, supports the psychiatrist(s) and psychiatric ARNP(s) by facilitating patient flow, completing telephonic triage, and managing prescriptions for psychotropic medications.

Responsibilities

• Gather primary referrals, behavioral symptoms, and concerns from parents, clinicians, and others as needed.
• Evaluate emergent patients' needs and coordinate appointments with parents and primary care providers.
• Maintain a manageable schedule for psychiatric providers to ensure constant patient flow.
• Complete written information for psychiatric providers in advance of appointments.
• Study changing formularies within various Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and gather detailed histories of prior psychotropic medications.
• Document dosage, frequency, effects, and side effects of psychotropic medications.
• Negotiate with MCOs for needed prescriptions and complete the appeal process when payment authorizations are denied.
• Fax or call in prescriptions once they are authorized.
• Document patient information such as weight and blood pressure at patient arrival.

Qualifications

• AA degree in a related field or 1 year of medical training, or 2 years of related healthcare experience.
• Experience overseeing patient records, documentation, and database systems in a medical setting.
• Strong customer service and computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
• An acceptable driving record per CCS' policy.
• Must successfully pass required background clearances.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
