Job Description
The Department of Animal Sciences Equine Sciences Center seeks a Farm Supervisor to assist the Farm Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Equine Sciences Center and Horse Teaching Unit. Key responsibilities include:
- Organizing, directing, and participating in the daily care and maintenance of the Center’s animals, facilities, and grounds.
- Supervising and maintaining farm safety and sanitary conditions.
- Liaising with IFAS Facilities Planning and Operations for facility maintenance and renovation.
- Assisting with forage production and performing farm equipment and vehicle maintenance.
- Breeding mares and managing the foal crop.
- Aiding in classes and serving as an operational instructor for new employees, laborers, and volunteers.
- Providing customer service to prospective horse buyers and donors.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent with three years of experience working on an agricultural operation, including supervision of others.
- Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute for the required years of experience.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Experience in supervising employees is preferred.
Salary
The expected salary range is $47,000 - $48,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
