FAPESP and BAYLAT launch a joint call to fund workshop organization
FAPESP and the Bavarian Academic Center for Latin America (BAYLAT) invite proposals to fund two collaborative workshops—one in São Paulo State and one in Bavaria—aimed at early-stage researchers and PhD candidates about to defend their theses.
About the opportunity
This call supports workshops that build links for future research collaboration and enhance participants’ career opportunities. Each workshop will be led by two coordinators—one from a higher-education or research institution in Bavaria and one from São Paulo—with optional mentors who are established researchers in the field.
Eligibility
- Proposals may be submitted in any discipline or multidisciplinary area.
- Workshops must alternate annually between São Paulo and Bavaria and occur between November 10, 2025, and November 27, 2027.
- São Paulo coordinators must currently be or have been Principal or Co-Principal Investigators on at least one FAPESP-funded project in one of the following lines: Thematic Projects, Young Investigator Grant (JP), Engineering/Applied Research Centers (CPE/CPA), Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (CEPID), or Research Partnership for Technological Innovation Program (PITE).
- Bavarian coordinators must register in the SAGe system as principal investigators from a partner institution.
Participant recruitment
Recruitment will be open, widely disseminated, and designed to ensure accessibility, diversity, and gender parity among participants, coordinators, and mentors.
