About the role
Foster parents play an extremely crucial part in supporting children in foster care by providing love, support and stability to their foster children.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and nurturing home environment for foster children
- Attend all scheduled meetings with caseworkers and other professionals involved in the child's case
- Ensure the child's basic needs are met including food, clothing, and healthcare
- Support the child's emotional and psychological well-being
- Participate in regular visits with birth parents if appropriate
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Pass a background check and fingerprinting
- Have a stable living situation
- Be able to provide a safe and loving home environment
- Commit to a minimum of one year commitment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in foster care is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle stress and maintain composure under pressure
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
