About the role
The Family Visitation Specialist supervises court-ordered family visits to ensure child safety and promote healthy interactions. This role is perfect for professionals passionate about child welfare, family support, and trauma-responsive care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor all family visitation sessions (sight & sound supervision).
- Ensure children remain safe throughout the duration of each visit.
- Observe family interactions and provide supportive guidance when needed.
- Share positive parenting strategies to encourage healthy communication.
- Intervene when interactions become unsafe or non-productive.
- Provide referrals to families when appropriate.
- Document visit observations for court use (strengths + concerns).
- Ensure visitation spaces are properly set up and cleaned.
- Follow all agency policies and court-ordered requirements.
- Report any suspected child abuse or neglect to appropriate authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and families.
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) preferred.
- Strong observational, documentation, and crisis-response skills.
- Comfort working with families experiencing trauma.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.

Schedule
- Wednesday: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Saturday: 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
