Family Support Services Caregiver

ProBerco is offering a $2,000.00 New Hire Sign-On Bonus for this position. Pay starts at $16.00 hourly with shift differentials, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

About the role

This hourly position provides in-home, recreational, and habilitative services to individuals residing with their families or independently in the community. Hours vary based on the needs of service recipients and may include evenings and weekends. The role involves implementing outcomes, following ProBerco’s policies, and meeting the specific requirements of each service recipient while demonstrating professionalism and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled services in community settings and/or the service recipient's home, including skill development in activities of daily living, communication, sensory/motor, adaptive behavior, social skills, and recreational activities.
• Transport service recipients to required appointments and activities.
• Follow each service recipient's Individualized Service Plan (ISP) as written.
• Attend to physical needs, including those requiring specialized training or procedures.
• Promote independence and growth while respecting individual needs and differences.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with team members and service recipients.
• Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage time effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in a community setting.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Experience implementing outcomes and documentation.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally sit.
• May lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, and depth perception.
• Primarily work indoors in homelike conditions; occasionally in offices, community settings (e.g., restaurants, theaters), or while driving.
• Noise level usually quiet to moderate.
