Job Summary
The Family Support Center Service Navigator supports the day-to-day operations of the MVCS Family Support Center. This position provides direct assistance to families by offering resources, information, and referrals for a wide variety of services and supports.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of parent networking opportunities, family events, and special programs.
- Collaborate with the FSC Program Manager to maintain strong relationships with community partners, school systems, and other stakeholders.
- Represent MVCS at community and program events to engage and support families and partners.
- Provide technical support for creating newsletters, webinars, and social media content in coordination with the MVCS Development Office.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with families.
- Update program materials and resource guides as needed.
- Support families with applying for DDS services, including providing technical assistance with application submission to the DDS Intake and Eligibility Division.
- Oversee and manage the Sensory Equipment Lending Library, with guidance from the Program Manager.
- Attend DDS area/regional meetings, school meetings, and other community meetings on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket as requested.
- Provide individualized support, information, and referrals to connect families with appropriate resources.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two to five years of related experience or lived experience as a parent/guardian of a child or adult with a disability is preferred.
- Additional education or relevant certifications are a plus.
