Family Store Associate

Essential Responsibilities

• Aid customers purchasing items via the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Operate and maintain a cash register, accepting payment and making change.
• Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
• Prepare and balance the cash drawer; assist in preparing bank deposits as requested.
• Price unmarked items of merchandise.
• Clean shelves, counters or tables.
• Follow through on outdating as instructed.
• Help set up displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales.
• Responsible to maintain good customer relations by giving prompt, courteous assistance to customers.
• Maintain the neatness and security of the cash register area.
• Absorb donations from customers.
• Arrange items in the store as directed.
• Answer the telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ensure that the store is maintained in a clean and inviting manner.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED (desired), or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Experience working in a retail store preferred.
