Essential Responsibilities
- Aid customers purchasing items via the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Operate and maintain a cash register, accepting payment and making change.
- Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
- Prepare and balance the cash drawer; assist in preparing bank deposits as requested.
- Price unmarked items of merchandise.
- Clean shelves, counters or tables.
- Follow through on outdating as instructed.
- Help set up displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales.
- Responsible to maintain good customer relations by giving prompt, courteous assistance to customers.
- Maintain the neatness and security of the cash register area.
- Absorb donations from customers.
- Arrange items in the store as directed.
- Answer the telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure that the store is maintained in a clean and inviting manner.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED (desired), or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Experience working in a retail store preferred.
