About the role
The Family Specialist provides support and counseling to families regarding state financial subsidies for early education, after school, and camp. Establishes and maintains subsidy records. Works with families to coordinate all facets of subsidy eligibility as well as provide additional resources as needed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee intake and enrollment procedures for children qualifying for EEC state subsidies, ensuring families are offered and properly qualify for financial support, confirming all required documentation is in order.
- Assess family needs at intake and reauthorizations and provide resources as needed.
- Add families and update family information on the EEC centralized waitlist.
- Foster a cooperative and inclusive team environment that encourages open dialogue and mutual respect.
- Maintain all documentation and files associated with the family.
- Manage a caseload of clients.
- Respond to common inquiries or issues from families.
- Use of proprietary software.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must possess the qualifications required for their positions in accordance with EEC regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment.
- Must be well organized with satisfactory computer skills.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to travel locally.
- Background in childcare and/or bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful.
