Family Services Specialist

Skill Summary

• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
• Experience with childcare administration, EBT, or state subsidy programs preferred

Essential Functions

Serve as the first point of contact for prospective and current childcare families.

Guide families through enrollment, registration, and onboarding.

Maintain waitlists and coordinate classroom placement with center directors.

Schedule tours and respond to family inquiries.

Maintain accurate child and family records.

Prepare enrollment packets and licensing documentation.

Aid in EBT and state childcare subsidy processing.

Cook up billing questions, payment plans, and collections support with Finance.

Track enrollment trends and vacancy reports.

Coordinate administrative support to all childcare centers.

Order office supplies and support departmental projects.

Deliver exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and electronically.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two years of administrative or customer service experience preferred
• Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Able to sit, stand and bend to perform appropriate tasks
• Must be able to move at an appropriate pace to respond to emergencies
• Follow all safety requirements of the Salina Family YMCA
• May be required to stand for extended periods of time
• Work in different temperature environments
