About the role
Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time Family Supportive Services Case Manager to provide casework services and ensure the safety and well-being of children.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and collaborate with other service providers, schools, and healthcare facilities to promote and ensure child well-being and safety during service delivery.
- Assess family service needs and provide linkage to community resources to remediate problems and prevent abuse or neglect and verify participation.
- Provide strengths-based case management to facilitate the resolution of low to minor challenges contributing to risk to children.
- Advocate with medical or governmental institutions.
- Complete and submit all required reports, documents, and billing accurately and timely as required by the agency and funding sources.
- Participate in supervisory process for guidance, direction support, and approval of decision-making, assessment, service planning and intervention.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or in a related human service field required.
- Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS required.
- State licensing/certification as required by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience in social service work preferred.
- Experience working with schools, healthcare facilities and government institutions preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to others and influence people.
- Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
