Summary

The Family Resources Specialist (FRS) plays a vital role in connecting families with young children to meaningful support through the Healthy Families program. This position works directly with pregnant individuals and families with children ages 0–5, conducting assessments, building relationships with community partners, and helping families access services that promote healthy child development and strong family functioning.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive family assessments and responding promptly to referrals to ensure families are connected to services quickly and effectively.
  • Building strong relationships with community partners and referral sources to maintain a steady pipeline of families who may benefit from Healthy Families services.
  • Completing approximately 100 in-home or virtual family assessments annually using standardized tools such as the Family Resilience and Opportunities for Growth (FROG) Scale.
  • Maintaining detailed, accurate, and confidential documentation in the program’s data system in accordance with Healthy Families America standards.
  • Supporting families through crisis intervention, mandated reporting responsibilities, and referrals to community resources when additional support is needed.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field is preferred.
  • Two to five years of experience working with families with young children.
  • Experience in home visitation or human services settings is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Completion and passing of all required background checks and drug screenings.

Qualifications

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to quickly establish trust with families while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with colleagues, supervisors, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of family systems, infant and early childhood development, and strengths-based family engagement approaches.
  • Ability to assess family needs, advocate for resources, and respond thoughtfully to stressful or complex situations.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn case management systems.

Pay

$20.25-$23.50 per hour.
