Family Practitioner/General Practitioner
Regular, part-time position (2 clinics per week) at Alouette Correctional Centre for Women in Maple Ridge, BC. This role offers the opportunity to diversify your experience in mental health and addictions while working within an inter-professional team and accessing full Electronic Medical Records (EMR) support.
About the role
We are seeking a Family Practitioner (FP) to improve access to primary health care, mental health, and substance use support for clients in correctional centres. As a key member of the health care team, you will work alongside other experts to provide quality care, supporting clients during their time in custody and as they reintegrate into the community. This role allows you to grow your expertise in primary care within a supportive environment, where leaders and colleagues across disciplines will assist you from day one.

Responsibilities
- Provide primary health care, mental health, and substance use support to clients in correctional centres.
- Collaborate with an inter-professional team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Support clients during custody and reintegration into the community.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to enhance care delivery.
Requirements
- Eligible for provisional or full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (or equivalent) is mandatory.
Qualifications
Assets:
- Experience working with patients across a broad spectrum of psychiatric illness, substance use disorders, and personality difficulties.
- Experience in correctional health and/or additional certification or training in relevant areas.
