Family Practice/Primary Care Physician-Part Time and Full Time!
About the role
Provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive health maintenance for a primarily adult patient population. Responsibilities also include instructing medical staff, participating in peer reviews, and utilizing automated clinical information systems.
Arise Staffing / Platinum Business Corporation is actively seeking qualified Family Practice / Primary Care Physicians to support the Primary Care Directorate at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) and its associated Branch Health Clinics (BHCs) and TRICARE Prime Clinics.
Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
- Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.
- Examine, diagnose, treat, or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
- Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
- Order diagnostic tests as applicable, as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
- Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
- Practice aseptic techniques as necessary and comply with infection control guidelines.
- Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, MHS Genesis and Clinical Information System (CIS).
- Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
- Board Certification: Be board-certified in one of the following: Family Medicine, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- Experience: Possess a minimum of one (1) year of Family Practice, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine experience within the preceding two (2) years.
- Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship and residency program.
- DEA Certification: Current DEA Certification.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
- Certification: BLS and ACLS Certification from the AHS or ARC.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree and will be able to provide high-quality care to a primarily adult patient population in a structured federal healthcare setting.
Skills
The candidate should be technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures, and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members.
