About the role

This is an employed practice position with Southwest Medical, part of Optum. You will deliver patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for treating health problems and promoting health. The role emphasizes professionalism, ethical principles, and sensitivity to a diverse patient population, operating within a systems-based practice that leverages Optum’s resources for optimal value.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain your own patient panel while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide comprehensive primary care to adults, including geriatrics and select older adolescents
  • Utilize electronic medical records to document and coordinate care
  • Participate in practice-based learning and improvement through self-evaluation and integration of scientific evidence
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and system efficiency

Requirements

  • Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency trained; board certified or board eligible
  • Ability to obtain Nevada medical license, DEA registration, and Pharmacy license
  • Strong medical knowledge in biomedical, clinical, epidemiological, and social-behavioral sciences
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and health professionals
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and related clinical software

Pay

Base salary range: $226,000 to $366,000 annually (full-time). Pay is determined by factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and other relevant criteria. UnitedHealth Group complies with all applicable minimum wage laws.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, full-time
  • No weekend or on-call requirements specified
