About the role
This is an employed practice position with Southwest Medical, part of Optum Care Delivery. You will deliver patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health. The role emphasizes professionalism, adherence to ethical principles, and sensitivity to a diverse patient population. You will practice within a systems-based framework, leveraging system resources to provide optimal value care.
Responsibilities
- Maintain your own patient panel while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Provide comprehensive primary care to adults across the lifespan, including geriatrics and select older adolescents
- Utilize electronic medical records for documentation and care coordination
- Engage in practice-based learning and improvement by evaluating and assimilating scientific evidence to enhance patient care
- Demonstrate awareness of and responsiveness to the broader health care system to optimize patient outcomes
Requirements
- Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency trained; board certified or board eligible
- Ability to obtain Nevada medical license, DEA registration, and pharmacy license
- Strong medical knowledge of biomedical, clinical, epidemiological, and social-behavioral sciences
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and health professionals
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records

Compensation
Base salary range: $226,000 to $366,000 annually (full-time). Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. In addition to salary, eligible employees may participate in incentive and recognition programs and an equity stock purchase plan.
