Family Physician (MD/DO) - MD097

About the role

The Clinic Physician will provide primary health care services and assure that the clinic's medical services are in full compliance with standards, ethics and license requirements of the medical profession. This includes supervising medical students, coordinating with locum tenens physicians, contractual physicians, and developing links with non-allopathic health care providers like naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists, or herbalists.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Medical Director in ensuring the NARA NW Clinic's medical services comply with professional standards, ethics, and licensing requirements.
• Supervise medical students and coordinate with locum tenens physicians, contractual physicians, and non-allopathic health care providers.
• Engage in collegial consultative relationships with Nurse Practitioners, other physicians, mental health practitioners, registered nurses, dieticians, Residential Treatment Center staff, and Outpatient Treatment Center staff.
• Participate as a member of the clinic's management team.
• Establish and maintain a consultative referrals network and coordinate with contractual pharmacies, hospital-based admitting physicians, and reference labs.
• Provide comprehensive primary health care services, including health promotion, prevention of disease and disability, health maintenance, rehabilitation, identification, diagnosis, and management of health problems, and referral to other providers as necessary.
• Treat acute and chronic illnesses and minor injuries.
• Treat superficial lesions such as warts, cysts, minor lacerations, abrasions, minor first and second-degree burns within the physician's scope of practice.
• Treat minor injuries such as strains, sprains, and non-complicating extremity fractures and dislocations within the physician's scope of practice.
• Evaluate medical histories and perform routine health maintenance examinations for children and adults within the physician's scope of practice.
• Counsel and instruct patients on health maintenance issues such as nutrition, diet and weight reduction, risk factor prevention and modification, mental health referrals, self-care measures, and family planning.
• Coordinate the care patients receive from other providers and agencies and advocate for the patient within the health care system.

Requirements

Must have a current Oregon medical license and DEA registration. Must be able to travel to both locations as needed.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an approved residency program in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or an equivalent specialty.
• Experience in providing primary care services to underserved populations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Pay

$270,000.00 – $300,000.00 annual salary, Exempt.

Schedule

This is an in-person position, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
