Family Partnership and Empowerment Administrator

About the role

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking highly collaborative individuals with expertise in family and community engagement to apply for the Family Partnership and Empowerment Administrator position.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters authentic family partnerships, empowers families as leaders and advocates
  • Establishes systems and practices to build capacity of Los Angeles County Local Education Agencies (LEAs)
  • Builds systems, programs, and partnerships that elevate family voice, strengthen family-school-community relationships, and advance student and family well-being

Requirements

  • Principles and best practices of family partnership, empowerment, and advocacy in educational settings
  • Applicable laws, codes, and regulations governing family involvement in education, including federal and state program requirements
  • Culturally responsive and inclusive practices for engaging diverse families and communities
  • Principles of program development, implementation, and evaluation methodologies
  • Effective communication, facilitation, and relationship-building strategies
  • Data analysis, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Project management and organizational leadership
  • Marketing, communications, and public relations as they relate to family partnership
  • Equity, diversity, and inclusion frameworks
  • Operations of applicable computer hardware and software
  • Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, education, family studies, public administration or a field closely related from an accredited institution
  • Experience: Five years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing organizational systems and strategic initiatives in an educational, community-based, or government setting
  • Two years of the required experience must include building and implementing large-scale initiatives and partnerships
