Join MainStreet Family Care as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in Tarboro, NC! We’re growing and seeking a fast, fun, and friendly FNP to deliver patient-focused care across urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. This role is ideal for FNPs early in their career—including brand new graduates—and offers robust support, from on-site orientation to a provider on-call for clinical decision-making.
About the role
- Practice your full scope of licensure, treating patients of all ages—from babies to geriatric patients—in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting.
- Lead a small team of medical assistants, serving as a professional role model and inspiring career growth.
- Support rural communities with limited access to care; most clinics qualify for state-funded tuition or student loan reimbursement grants.
- Utilize comprehensive treatment protocols and a complimentary pediatric urgent care course to build confidence and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
- Perform minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, suturing, splinting).
- Conduct general orthopedic evaluations, review x-rays (with radiologist over-read), and interpret EKGs.
- Manage general dermatology, eye problems, emergency cases, and GYN concerns.
- Provide care for children of all ages and deliver occupational medicine and telemedicine services.
Schedule
Clinics are open 7 days a week, 362 days a year:
- Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Rotating schedule includes every other weekend. Sample rotation:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (ON); Wednesday, Thursday (OFF).
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday (ON); Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (OFF).
Requirements
- Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (required; new graduates welcome).
- MSN or higher education (required).
- DOT certification or willingness to obtain it (cost covered by employer).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office suite (preferred).
