About the Role
This position is responsible for educating residents through the development of educational programs, weekly meetings, and co-counseling of patients with resident students. The Behavior Scientist serves as a consultant and referral resource—either personally or by providing community referral information—and coordinates Medical Education retreat programs across all OhioHealth Hospitals. The role requires specialized expertise in behavioral health, achieved through practice and doctoral-level qualifications, to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices for improving the system delivery of behavioral care.
Responsibilities
- Develops and delivers educational programs for residents.
- Meets with residents weekly to support their learning and development.
- Co-counsels patients with residents as part of their education.
- Serves as a consultant and referral resource, either directly or by providing community referral information.
- Coordinates Medical Education retreat programs at all OhioHealth Hospitals.
- Works closely with patients (15% of role).
- Performs support services (5% of role).
- Participates in hospital and community committees focused on education and recruitment programs (10% of role).
Requirements
- Master’s Degree (required).
- Specialized depth of expertise in behavioral health, achieved through practice and doctoral degree qualifications.
