Family Medicine-OB Physician

About the role

The West Florida Division Medical Group continues to grow rapidly to meet the needs of the communities we serve. Over the last six years, we’ve nearly tripled in size with a projection to grow to 835 providers by the end of 2025. With the addition of AdventHealth Port Charlotte, we span a broad geography in eight counties, with practices in Charlotte, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties as well as five Care Pavilions. Our providers represent 40 specialties and we care for one million patients annually.

Responsibilities

• Split schedule of resident supervision, personal clinical, and administrative time
• Work with Program Director on program accreditation, resident recruitment, rotation scheduling, curriculum development and resident coaching
• Serve as a member of the program evaluation committee and clinical competency committee
• Perform additional academic and clinical duties as assigned by the program director
• Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Model professionalism for residents, medical students and clinical staff
• Possess excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the EPIC EMR

Requirements

• BC/BE Family Medicine with Obstetrics
• Desire to be part of a growing program
• Passion for medical education
• Prioritization on collaboration, quality of care, and the patient and resident experience
• Opportunity for OB growth as the program builds volume
• Call 1:3 from home or office and one weekend of call a month
• Support from an OB hospitalist group

Qualifications

• Equivalent educational qualifications may be acceptable by the FM Review Committee of the ACGME
