Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner - Locum Tenens Coverage

About the Role

This position involves providing primary care services to adult psychiatric patients in a state hospital clinic. The clinician will evaluate and manage medical conditions, working Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with an expected caseload of 8-16 patients daily.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive medical assessments and treatments to adult psychiatric patients
• Collaborate with psychiatric staff and primary care clinicians to ensure coordinated care
• Manage a patient caseload efficiently within the clinical environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to clinical protocols
• Conduct medical evaluations and manage adult psychiatric patient health needs
• Work independently within a multidisciplinary team
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards and documentation requirements

Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine (negotiable)
• Minimum of 3 years of practitioner experience
• Prescriptive authority required
• Autonomous practice preferred

Schedule

Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
