Family Law Paralegal

Position Overview

Support attorneys across all phases of family law matters from intake through resolution
Serve as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining professionalism and discretion
Manage multiple cases in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment

Responsibilities

• Draft, prepare, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence
• Manage case files from opening through closing, including organization and document management
• Track deadlines and ensure compliance with Maryland, DC, and Virginia court rules and procedures
• Prepare, review, organize, and analyze discovery materials, including interrogatories and document productions
• Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys
• Assist with hearings, depositions, and trial preparation, including exhibits and witness binders
• Prepare and file documents across MD, DC, and VA courts, including MDEC, CaseFileXpress, and Virginia e-filing systems

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on family law
• Strong knowledge of Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia court rules and procedures
• Experience with e-filing systems across relevant jurisdictions
• Prominent ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
• Strong drafting experience across pleadings, motions, and discovery
