Family Law & Civil Litigation Lawyer

About the role

Verhaeghe Law is a general practice law firm primarily focused on family law. We are seeking experienced lawyers in Family Law and Civil Litigation to join our team and grow their practice in a busy, expanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal representation and advice in family law and civil litigation matters
• Manage multiple files simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrate above-average client and courtroom skills
• Apply knowledge of law and legal procedures specific to Family Law
• Utilize legal software, video conferencing, and other technologies to enhance work product
• Maintain respectful and professional interactions with colleagues, clients, and other professionals
• Understand and adhere to billing procedures, practices, and policies within a Family Law setting

Requirements

• Juris Doctor or LLB degree from an accredited post-secondary institution
• License to practice law in Alberta – Lawyer in good standing
• Minimum of two (2) years of legal experience (an asset)
• Membership in good standing with the Law Society of a Canadian jurisdiction (required)

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters
• Proficiency with legal software and video conferencing tools

Pay

$110,000.00–$200,000.00 per year (includes base salary plus commission)
